YOUR PERSONAL GROWTH
IN A NURTURING SPACE
THROUGH INTEGRATIVE COACHING
Healing and alignment can begin when we allow the different parts of our experience — mind, body, emotions, nervous system and inner wisdom — to be heard and understood.

Healing and alignment can begin when we allow the different parts of our experience — mind, body, emotions, nervous system and inner wisdom — to be heard and understood.
I offer integrative, trauma-informed coaching that brings together curiosity, embodied exploration and practical reflection — helping you understand yourself more deeply, navigate what you're experiencing, and integrate what you discover.

Who are you?
You as a client
Is this you?
You're already curious about yourself and your personal growth — but perhaps you sense there's something deeper asking for your attention.
Maybe you're navigating:
- overwhelm, frustration or anxious thoughts
- recurring patterns you'd like to understand
- emotional experiences that feel difficult to process
- disconnection from your body or inner knowing
- self-doubt or difficulty trusting yourself
- boundaries that are hard to hold
- a sense that your body is telling you something
- a transition, question or life situation you want to explore more deeply
And somewhere within you, there's a feeling that it's time to listen.

our session environment
How we work together
There isn't one right way to explore yourself.
Our work is collaborative and responsive to what you bring. I draw on different approaches and perspectives
depending on what feels relevant — always with curiosity, compassion and respect for your pace.
Collaborative
I don't have all the answers — and I'm not here to tell you who you should become. Together, we explore what is already within you and what might want your attention.
Trauma-informed
You are not broken. Your nervous system responds to present experiences in ways it has learned to protect you in the past.
Appreciative exploration
Rather than focusing only on what's difficult, we also notice your resources, strengths and existing capacities — creating space for integration and empowerment.
Honouring diversity
You are welcome exactly as you are, including your physical, emotional, energetic, spiritual and neurological ways of experiencing the world.

Your Coach – Katja Frerichs
My story
Since I was a teenager, I have often asked myself what makes us ‘us’?
Have I found a definite answer? No.
What I have found is a drive to discover the multiplicity of human personalities, including my own. AND a desire to support other people in their self-development.
On the way, I married, gave birth to two sons, have been permanently fostering a girl, and was a foster parent for a few other children.
Whilst trying to juggle between the children’s needs from ADHD, high ability, developmental trauma, and my own needs, I soon got interested in what determines our identities, beliefs, and patterns.
This led to more curiosity…

I started off as an Aircraft mechanic and later worked in storage management, purchasing, and planning with the same company. When my children were born, the desire to work on my personal development and to impact the lives of others grew constantly. I have since learnt much about how to heal old (and new) wounds, and that self-awareness, emotional vocabulary, and encountering people who listen to our story unconditionally and in an empathic way are key elements for living an authentic life, aligned with our values.
After moving from Germany to Scotland, my world of literature and other opportunities to gain knowledge got an enormous boost. I started to study with the Open University, where I took courses in Business, Equality and Inclusion, and Psychology. I gained a Certificate of Higher Education in Psychology. Additionally, I worked through many other courses related to my fostering role, many of them about trauma, childhood adversity and its consequences or emotional and mental health. My coursework included the achievement of NFCE Cache Level 2 certificates in both Counselling Skills and Understanding Children and Young People's Mental Health.
In 2016, I became a certified Nurtured Heart Approach trainer with a follow up of becoming an Advanced Trainer in 2020. This approach allows me to change relationships by focusing on other's and my own inner values. It has changed the perspective on many situations in my life and provides a well of resources.
When the opportunity came up to become a Therapeutic Coach, it was easy for me to see that this would bring everything I had learned and wanted for me and other people together. I love the mix of therapeutic approach, practical tools, mindfulness, and connecting with our emotions.
Back in Germany in 2024, I wanted to become even more trauma-informed and somatic in my approach. By gaining both, the Trauma-informed Coaching and Embodied Processing Practitioner Certifications with the Centre for Healing, I have been able to make valuable additions to my practice.
This is my story so far, and the reason I want to support people in their own growth — not by giving them another version of who they should be, but by helping them understand, connect with and integrate more of who they already are.
Sometimes that means practical coaching and exploring values, goals and choices.
Sometimes it means slowing down enough to listen to the body, emotions or nervous system.
And sometimes the journey takes us deeper, towards the parts of ourselves that have been hidden, protected or difficult to meet.

What's YOUR story?
my mission and inspiration
You already carry more wisdom than you may realise.

At my core, I believe that we each carry an innate capacity for wisdom, connection and growth.
My work is not about fixing you or turning you into a better version of yourself.
It is about creating a space where you can become more aware of what is already there — your thoughts and beliefs, emotions and sensations, protective patterns, inner resources, values, intuition and embodied knowing.
Sometimes we need to understand something.
Sometimes we need to feel it.
Sometimes we need to make space for a part of ourselves that has been waiting to be heard.
Integrative coaching brings these different dimensions together.
Through compassionate curiosity and gentle inquiry, we explore what needs attention and look for ways to process, integrate and embody what you discover.
My intention is to support you towards a more embodied, authentic, connected and aligned relationship with yourself — so you can navigate your life from a place that feels more truly your own.

What informs my services?
Integrative coaching
Different perspectives, one whole person
There isn't one method that can capture everything it means to be human.
My coaching draws from different approaches to support exploration across mind, body, emotions, nervous system, relationships, beliefs, patterns and inner experience.
Two approaches have been particularly influential in shaping my practice:
Therapeutic Coaching brings together coaching, therapeutic perspectives, mindfulness, inquiry and practical tools to explore both present experience and the influences that may lie beneath it.
Embodied Processing brings attention to the body's wisdom, nervous system responses and the ways experiences can be held and processed somatically.
These approaches overlap in their focus on nervous-system regulation, emotional integration, compassion and a more whole-person understanding of ourselves.
The approach serves you — not the other way around.
Somatic
Embodied Processing
Embodied Processing uses the body's wisdom in a somatic, nervous-system-informed, and psycho-therapeutic way to facilitate nervous-system awareness, shift stress responses, and release stuck energies from negative memories.
It draws on successful approaches like Somatic Experiencing (SE), Polyvagal Theory, Internal Family System (IFS), and others.
Integrative
Therapeutic Coaching
Unlike many other coaching approaches, Therapeutic Coaching considers how past events have influenced our present patterns of thinking, behaviour, emotions, and energy.
It is informed by NLP, developmental psychology, mindfulness, life coaching, EFT Tapping, and others.
Was informiert mein Coaching?

What people say about my work
What does integrative coaching actually feel like?
I have received multiple Embodied Processing sessions with Katja Frerichs. She holds a beautiful, welcoming and safe space which has helped me open up and explore my nervous system dysregulation. Katja lead me through grounding techniques which enabled me to feel safe in my own body. She listened to what I had to say and then used her intuition to help me connect to my body and explore some of the sensations and connected emotions. With each session we have, I am learning more about my core beliefs and the affects they are having on my nervous system. Katja is knowledgeable and kind and I recommend reaching out to her if you are ready to work on yourself and receive the healing you deserve.
Athina Weiss
Katja is amazing. Really insightful and empathetic and really places her focus on you and works in a gentle but affirming way. She picked up really well on themes that came up in our work together and helped me understand and work through them in a safe and nurturing way. The whole process with Katja was wonderful, and I would highly recommend her.
David Newman
I've had the most amazing sessions with Katja! She has a natural way of making you feel at ease from the first encounter. I must say the nurturing bubble is a very fitting name for how I felt in our sessions. I left every sessions feeling a sense of relief which proved to be long lasting. She guided me with a lot of presence, warmth and compassion and really knows how to honour going at your own pace. I couldn't recommend Katja enough, she's a wonderful and skilled practitioner!
